Research Day

Research Day at the Institute for Advanced Computational Science is an annual event where presentations are made by IACS students, faculty, and a special keynote speaker along with an informative poster session. Every year we have an increasing number of students from a wide varitety of fields across Stony Brook University including Ecology and Evolution, Physics and Astronomy, Sociology, Linguistics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Computer Science, Technology and Society, Materials Science, Biomedical Informatics, and Biochemistry and Structural Biology.

This annual event allows our faculty to share with each other and with our students the research they are actively working on and their hopes for the future. Networking like this can encourage students to get involved in their own research or sign on to assist the faculty with theirs and learn at their side. Our students are also able to present the progress they have made with their own work to each other for feedback and inspiration but also to show the faculty the contributions they can make to their own fields and to the field of computational science.

See the posters from IACS students for 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015.
