Jennifer Heerwig is a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and an assistant professor
of sociology at Stony Brook University. She received her Ph.D. in sociology from
New York University in 2013. Her research interests include public opinion and political
attitudes, political polarization, and the role of elites in American politics. Heerwig’s
research has received funding from the National Science Foundation and the Russell
Sage Foundation. Currently, Heerwig is working on a project that investigates the
donation strategies of elite donors in federal elections using an original ‘big’ dataset,
and a related project that examines changes in the political alignments of corporate
elites over the past thirty years.
