The DCD application has five components:

• An application form

•  A personal statement, which should be 1 or 2 pages in PDF format. Please use 12-point, Times New Roman font when composing the personal statement. Recommended content for the personal statement is shown in the application form

• Two letters of recommendation from faculty members or mentors who know you, your academic qualifications, and/or your previous research experience well. Each letter of recommendation should be accompanied by this cover letter

• Official, electronic copies of transcripts from all undergraduate institution

The application form will be submitted upon completion by Google Forms.  All other materials should be emailed to dcd_iacs@stonybrook.edu and contain the applicant's full name in the title.  Reference letters should be emailed from the reference writers' official/institutional email addresses.

Applications are due by January 30, 2024.  Application components can be submitted at any time and in any order. We will only be able to consider applications that are completely received by the deadline.
