Intro presentation, Prof. Rezaul Chowdhury
IACS will hold a 2-day, free hands-on workshop at the Stony Brook University Hilton Garden Inn featuring tutorials on programming techniques using OpenMP and MPI. Brief overviews of parallel computing, CILK, and LINDA will also be discussed, and attendees will be writing code to solve presented exercises.

Registration
Registration is mandatory: This workshop will have each participant gaining access to an HPC cluster and therefore requires a vetting process.
Registrants from the following countries will be able to attend the workshop but will not be given access to the HPC cluster for the hands-on portion of the workshop: Cuba; Iran; Sudan; and Syria. Registration will be capped at 35 registrants.
As part of the registration process, all applicants must sign a computer-use agreement. Applicants will be screened before approval to attend will be given.
Computer Use Agreement
All registrants must sign a Computer Use Agreement, which can be accessed through the online registration form. Please fill out all information and send the completed, signed and scanned computer use agreement to slatest@bnl.gov. NOTE: WHEN FILLING OUT THE FORM, LEAVE THE “LIFE/GUEST # BLANK

Registration Confirmation
Those who have been accepted into the workshop only will receive a confirmation email. Those who have been accepted into the workshop and given access to the HPC cluster will receive a set of emailed instructions. The instructions will ask you to create an SSH keypair on the computer that you’ll be bringing to the workshop. You will then be instructed to email the resulting PUBLIC key only (not the private key) to rjperez@bnl.gov with a CC to slatest@bnl.gov. In your email, you must reference the statement below:
“I am an approved registrant for the January 23/24 workshop at Stony Brook University, and this is the public key that needs to be deployed on the HPC cluster that will be used during the workshop."
